Miss Jackie Surratt

Jackie and I became friends when Shaun introduced her to one of his best friends, Doug.  Shaun must have some mad match making skills.....cause the two of them got hitched just this past October!!!  

We love hanging out with Doug and Jackie - especially on the good ole' muddy Illinois River on Doug's boat.  Hopefully we will get to do more of that this Summer!  

Jackie is such a sweet caring person.  She has a heart of gold and will do anything for her friends.  She is also a fantastic photographer.  Check out her photography blog here 

It just so happens that she took pictures of Miss Emma Michelle Kassing this past weekend and has them posted today!!!  They are wonderful :)  Great job Jackie!

Here we go... 

What is your favorite time of the day and why? 

First thing in the morning when I wake up. My dog Lego and I sit and talk to each other while I am getting ready.

 

 

What makes you laugh?

Those baby videos on YouTube when they laugh.  It gets me every time.

 

 

What is your happiest memory so far in life?

Just 1?!? Well my wedding day, also the day Doug and I got engaged.  He really surprised me and caught me off guard. Another one was when I was little I would spend every weekend with my grandparents.  They aren't here today and I really miss them. 

 

 

 

In your opinion, what is the world's worst problem?

People who don't treat others the way they would want to be treated.  Many times I have seen others treat people with no respect at all.  Especially at restaurants  People complain rather than compliment others. I think if everyone was a little bit nicer and tried to get along with others we would all be much happier.

 

 

 What is something on your mind lately?

My photography business, how to expand, thinking of new ways to photograph people, how to improve my skills.  I also have been thinking of trying to do a good deed for people who are lonely or upset about recent events in their lives. 

 

 

 

What are you normally doing at 3:00 in the afternoon?

Lately, I have been working at my job at Glow Images probably doing an extreme ASAP research request for a company. 

 

 

 

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

Took a road trip out to San Diego with my mom when I was in college.  We made it without a GPS (those weren't around back then- that makes me fell old!)  and just a map. 

 

 

Your life would be simpler if...

More hours in the day and if I didn't have to worry about money.

 

 

 

What is your happiest childhood memory?

My dad worked 3rd shift and some mornings he would wake us up at 5am when he got home and made us breakfast.  We complained because it was so early but really it was a nice surprise.  Or when my mom would come in on Sunday mornings and wake us up by singing the "get ready for church"song.

 

 

Name two objects that you use in your everyday life...

Lotion - I am addicted to it. My phone- since getting the iphone I will spend hours on it.

 

 

 

What advice would you offer people?

Believe in yourself.  And if you can't - talk to God he will help you have faith.

 

 

 

What is your favorite item in your closet?

In the winter my UGGS and in the summer my flip flops

 

 

 

 What is one item on your bucket list?

go surfing in Tahiti

 

 

 

 

 What would you do with $1,000.00 right now?

probably buy something for the business.  Another flash, a canon transmitter, and a new lens.

I am excited to go to Andrea's shower tomorrow.  Baby Frederick is going to have one sweet pad, let me just say that!  She has so much cute stuff already!!!
