I heart Pekin....and the Marigold Festival

My Mom and my Aunt Diane came down to Pekin this past weekend!  I was so excited for them to get here!  Unfortunately I told them to take the scenic route - which I said would be really pretty and a nice and relaxing drive...well I guess it took them like 5 hours to get down here.....oops....I'm sorry :)  

There was construction, took a few wrong turns, etc.....

They finally got here late on Friday and we just hung out, had a couple of glasses of wine.  It was nice and relaxing!

Then on Saturday we ventured out to the Marigold Festival .  It was kind of overcast in the morning but it cleared up and was actually a really nice day.  As I type this I can almost smell the awesomeness of our kettle corn that we got massive amounts of!  

We then went to Cyd's for lunch.....I love it there, it is soooooo good!  We all got a turkey club...yum!!!   

We then drove to Grandview Drive and ate lunch and took some sweet pictures.  Check out the one with the old car - we thought it was cool :)

We then ventured out to Tanner's Apple Orchard . I got some really cute Halloween decorations and some apple cider donuts and apple cider (sooo bad but sooooooooo good!!!)

AND since we were busy having girls night on Saturday Shaun decided to go to Kouri's (his favorite bar in the world!) and when he came home this is what I saw after I was woken up from a dead sleep with the dogs barking:
