Tuesday night was our date night this week :) Since we had to skip last week (darn bronchitis) it was still Shaun's turn this week!
He made me my absolute favorite, favorite, favorite dinner in the world...beef stroganoff!!! It was really good! After that he rented a movie....
wait for it....
"Date Night" on Date Night!!!!
It was HILARIOUS...I recommend that everyone watch it!
Thinking of our Date Nights got me thinking about other traditions...
I just love traditions. Having traditions makes me happy and helps families create memories to last a life time! For example: Here are some great traditions that I remember growing up:
1. When we were little, and there was a thunderstorm, we would all go out and sit on the back porch together and watch the storm.
2. My Dad used to play 500 with my brothers and I in the backyard - all the time.
3. When we were little and it was time for bed my Mom would march up the stairs with us and sing, "Hi ho..hi ho....it's off to bed we go" :)
4. Each Christmas Eve my parents would let us open one present and it would always be cozy pj's and some ornaments (thanks Mom - I now have enough ornaments to fill my own tree!)
5. Every Christmas Eve, we would go to church and then come home and eat shrimp - and then in the morning it was caramel rolls :)!!!!! LOVE those :)
6. Every night before our first day of school, my Mom would make us our favorite meal (of course mine was always - beef stroganoff - see above)
There are many more....
I cannot wait until Shaun and I start our own family and have our own family traditions! I believe that traditions are important and can hold a family together!
What are some of your families traditions?
Happy Thursday
Oh and P.S. Body Attack kicked my butt this morning :)

I LOVE traditions too :) My mom always makes awesome pumpkin cake/breads, etc. in fall and of course decorates the house on Christmas. We also always go to Tavern on the Town, this restaurant in Libertyville, before Xmas...it must be like our 15th year this year. Love you, Lauren!
ReplyDeleteAwww...that sounds nice Jess :) Your Mom makes Awesome EVERYTHING!!! Bring her with you when you come visit us! hahaha!
ReplyDeleteLove you too!
